Burnout is an energy management problem.
Every day, we only have a certain amount of energy available to us. When we run out, we start to borrow energy from our next day… and then our next day… and then our next day… and so on.
Burnout is as easy as breaking that cycle.
And there is a simple way of doing that.

Burnout is an Energy Management Problem
The cycle of burnout is pernicious, and its beginning is fairly innocent.
You over-commit to one thing.
You push through something even though you are exhausted and really should have rested.
And the next day, instead of recuperating and filling your metaphorical cup, you go about life… business as usual.
And a few days later, you extend yourself again.
Deep down, you know what you are doing to yourself. But the more you do it, the more you push that realization further down, underneath the surface. You stop feeling the warning signs. You stop listening to the advice of your body. And your mind becomes a willing co-conspirator in burnout.
After all, it’s probably the end of the world if that report doesn’t get out on time… right?
This is how burnout begins. This is how we become an active participant in our own burnout. And it can be fixed by incorporating one daily task.
What is that one daily task?
Assigning an appropriate routine for the day.

Have a daily routine ready for a low-energy day, an average-energy day, and a high-energy day. Then, follow the appropriate routine for the day based on your energy level.
